“End-to-end encryption”
Plain version: only you and the person you are messaging can read what you send; not even the app maker can. For you, it is genuine privacy for chats, calls, and backups. The catch worth knowing: if a feature is only encrypted “in transit” rather than “end-to-end,” the company can still read it on their servers. The exact wording is the whole story.
“Nits” and “refresh rate” on a screen
Plain version: nits measure brightness, and refresh rate (measured in Hz) is how many times per second the screen redraws. More nits means you can actually see the screen outdoors in sunlight. - Compare like for like. A “50-megapixel camera” is not automatically better than a 12-megapixel one; sensor size and software often matter more. When a single number is doing all the persuading, be suspicious of it.
